Bluetooth Fallback Smart Wi-Fi Lamps
Bluetooth Fallback is a handy feature that allows your Smart Wi-Fi lights to continue to function even if the Wi-Fi connection is temporarily lost. Here's an explanation of how it works:
1. Primary use of Wi-Fi
Smart bulbs are controlled via a Wi-Fi connection. This allows users to control the lamps remotely, set scenes, and enable integration with voice assistants such as Google Assistant or Alexa.
2. Activering van Bluetooth Fallback
If the lamp's Wi-Fi connection is suddenly lost, the lamp automatically switches to Bluetooth Fallback.
This works as follows:
- Detection: The lamp detects that the Wi-Fi signal has been lost.
- Switching: The lamp automatically activates the built-in Bluetooth functionality.
- Connectie: Your smartphone or tablet with Calex Smart App connects via Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi.
3. Control via Bluetooth
Bluetooth Fallback allows you to continue to control basic lamp functions, such as:
- Turning the lamp on and off.
- Adjusting brightness.
- Changing the color (for RGB lamps).
Provided your smartphone or tablet is within Bluetooth range of the lamp (usually about 10 meters).
Advanced features, such as integration with other devices in a smarthome network or remote control beyond Bluetooth range, may not be available during Bluetooth Fallback.
4. Back to Wi-Fi
Once the Wi-Fi connection is restored, the lamp automatically switches back to Wi-Fi mode. This allows you to use all the advanced features again without manual settings.
Advantages of Bluetooth Fallback
- Reliability: You can continue to control the lamp even without Wi-Fi.
- Ease of use: No additional settings required; the lamp switches automatically.
- Flexibility: Especially useful in situations where the Wi-Fi connection is unstable or temporarily unavailable.
With Bluetooth Fallback, Smart Wi-Fi lights offer a seamless user experience, where you always maintain control of your lighting, even in case of connection problems.
Note: More and more lamps now support Bluetooth Fallback, especially models manufactured after 2021. Older lamps may not yet offer this support.
