Notifications
I’ve just swapped out to some new cameras. The issue I have is the cloud storage only records motion so I have to turn motion detection on. This also gives me a lot of notifications on my mobile which I don’t want but if I mute them I don’t get other notifications from other devices eg. My door sensor. Any ideas if I’m doing something wrong?

Hi Frank,
Cloud storage works only based on event detection, such as motion detection or when someone rings the doorbell. Continuous recording is only possible with cameras and doorbells that are powered via an adapter, and only when using an SD card.
In the smart app, you can also set up a DND (Do Not Disturb) schedule. This allows you to select specific devices from which you don’t want to receive notifications.
Optionally, you can also look at our cameras and doorbells that support ONVIF. This allows you to continuously record footage locally within your own network to an NVR or NAS.

Hi Brian, my original static cam would record motion detection but not send a notification to my phone. My new ptz cam will only do this when motion detection is turned on. It also I found out last night turns in the camera light for each motion detection which I dont want. Where is this DND setting? Is it in the camera settings?
I just want my new cam to do what my old cam did. Record motion without sending me notifications or turning lights on.

bfd0080ef77b0244dbqa3f That’s the one with cloud attached and the motion notification problem but I feel all of the will be the same issue if swapped. All 3 were still in night vision when I checked them this morning which is telling me that they will all have the same issues if I was to link them to cloud storage and turn on motion detection.

Thank you for providing the device ID. This is the “Calex Outdoor PTZ Camera 3MP.” Currently, some users are experiencing issues with the IR Night Mode. We are currently working on new firmware to resolve this issue.
This new firmware is currently undergoing thorough testing and is expected to be available shortly.
As a workaround, a small quick fix has been implemented in the camera’s control panel, which should now allow you to adjust the IR Night Mode. To load the new panel, you’ll need to clear the cache in the Calex Smart app and then restart the Calex Smart app so that the new panel can be loaded.

Thanks Brian. That notification setting has worked. Will have to see if the light still turns on later or not but that may be linked to the night vision fix.
