Yesterday I bought some called led lights for the back of my TV. It’s all been connected up correctly and switched them on. Every time I try to change colours it automatically switches to white and just keeps flashing. Any suggestions what this could be ?

Thank you for providing the requested information. It is now clear to me that this concerns a Smart Wi-Fi LED strip.
Article number: 6102000302
This type of LED strip must first be connected to your Wi-Fi network using the Calex Smart App. Once connected, you can control the LED strip via both the Calex Smart App and the included IR remote control.

The blinking of the LED strip indicates that it is in pairing mode and ready to connect via the Calex Smart App. It seems likely that you have not yet completed this pairing process and are trying to control the LED strip directly with the IR remote control.
