There are several ways to connect your new Smart items to the Calex Smart app.
Bluetooth pairing
This is most simple way of connecting your Calex smart items to the Calex app.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Reset your Smart device
- Open the Calex app and select the 'Add device' option in the top right via the + icon.
The product will automatically become visible, this may take up to 1 to 2 minutes depending on circumstances. - Click on the found device and wait for it to be paired. This step also works with multiple items at the same time, note with larger numbers at the same time there is a chance of a timeout.
Bluetooth pairing is unfortunately not yet available for all devices. Exceptions for Bluetooth pairing include:
– Cameras (Some cameras now do support Bluetooth pairing)
– Sensors
– Siren
– Smoke detector
EZ mode (Default)
In this video, we describe how connecting your smart item works in EZ mode.

AP modus
This video will help you install your lamps or devices using AP mode. Use AP mode when you cannot connect the device or lamp using EZ mode (wifi 2.4 ghz).
Matter
Our Matter Smart products support the Matter standard and can therefore be easily connected to various third-party apps and Matter-compatible platforms. This means that you can operate and integrate our products within existing smart home environments from other providers, as long as they support Matter. This gives you maximum flexibility, broad compatibility, and a future-proof smart home experience, without being tied to one specific ecosystem.
Still not getting your smart item paired?
If the lights or devices do not connect (after resetting), check whether they support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks or 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
It is also important to check that your smartphone is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect the lamp or device. If this is the case and you are still unable to connect, the problem is often with the router.A first step that often helps is restarting the Wi-Fi router. Unplug the power cable from the socket, wait at least 60 seconds, and then plug it back in. Wait a few minutes for the router to fully restart, and then try pairing again.
If the problem persists, the cause may also be your smartphone. Check that no VPN or other connection-limiting apps are active. Restarting your smartphone once can also help.
If the issue still continues after this, the problem may lie in the router settings. In that case, please contact your internet service provider for further support and advice.
