There are several ways to connect your new Smart items to the Calex Smart app.
Bluetooth pairing
This is most simple way of connecting your Calex smart items to the Calex app.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Reset your Smart device
- Open the Calex app and select the 'Add device' option in the top right via the + icon.
The product will automatically become visible, this may take up to 1 to 2 minutes depending on circumstances. - Click on the found device and wait for it to be paired. This step also works with multiple items at the same time, note with larger numbers at the same time there is a chance of a timeout.
Bluetooth pairing is unfortunately not yet available for all devices. Exceptions for Bluetooth pairing include:
– Cameras (Some cameras now do support Bluetooth pairing)
– Sensors
– Siren
– Smoke detector
EZ mode (Default)
In this video, we describe how connecting your smart item works in EZ mode.

AP modus
This video will help you install your lamps or devices using AP mode. Use AP mode when you cannot connect the device or lamp using EZ mode (wifi 2.4 ghz).
Still not getting your smart item paired?
If the lights or devices do not connect (after resetting), it is important to
check carefully whether you are using a 2.4GHz connection. If this is the case,
the problem may lie with the router. First check how many devices are connected
to the router. Are there more than 20? Then the problem is probably that the
router is carrying too many devices. In this case, we recommend purchasing an
additional Wi-Fi Access Point. If the problem lies with the router's settings,
contact the provider for more information.
