The smoke detector is intended for private use.

This photoelectric smoke detector works together with the Calex app for extra functionality such as push notifications, for example when smoke is detected.

 

Note: Receiving push notifications is a good working method internet connection required.

1 Installing the smoke detector

Battery installation and use
With normal use, the battery lasts 5 years. Never use anyone else Please indicate battery type. Wrong batteries or incorrectly installed batteries can explode. If no battery is installed, the smoke detector will not work be tightened onto the mounting bracket.
Carefully loosen the mounting bracket. You do this by using one hand to activate the smoke detector and press the mounting bracket with the fingers of your other hand and turn it counterclockwise. Remove the protective tab.

Record the date of installation
There is a sticker on the inside of the bracket. Please state here installation date. The smoke detector must be replaced after 10 years.

 

 

Add the smoke detector to the Calex App
Make a note of your network name and password before you begin. Note: this item Only works on a 2.4 GHz WiFi network, not on a 5 GHz WiFi network. Consult your router's manual for settings.

 

Download the Calex Smart app from the Google Play Store, the Apple Store. This you can do this by clicking on one of the logos below when you see it page via your phone.

Open the app. If you are using it for the first time, please follow the instructions on the screen to create your account.

 

Add via Bluetooth
Do you have Bluetooth on your phone and is it turned on? Then it will be automatically connected after quickly pressing the control button three times.

 

Add manually
To add this device manually, tap in the top right corner screen on 'add device' (+). Select 'Security' in the left column and choose 'Smoke Sensor' from the list of devices. Then follow the instructions on screen.

Test the smoke detector before proceeding with installation

 

 

Assembly
Consult chapter 3 Locations for where to place smoke detectors and where not to place them.
Check whether the screws and plugs supplied are suitable for the surface where you want to place the smoke detector.

1. Use the mounting bracket to assemble the location for the drill holes.

2. Drill the holes and press the plugs into place.

3. Secure the mounting bracket with the screws

2 Testing and using the smoke detector

Testing
Please note: if the alarm goes off while you are not performing a test procedure, then the smoke detector detects too high a concentration of smoke, water vapor or dust in the air. Take action immediately.

Always test the smoke detector after installing and replacing the battery and at least once a week. If the test does not work properly, reset it alarm. You do this by pressing the button 3 times in quick succession.

If testing continues to fail, replace the smoke detector immediately.

Make sure you have the smoke detector in sight when you test it.

When testing the smoke detector, keep an arm's length distance. The alarm is very loud.

Use the control knob for testing. The test function performs a complete diagnosis. Do not use any other method to test the smoke detector. This may affect the correct operation of the smoke detector. Never use one open flame to test the smoke detector.

Have you been away for a long time, for example due to holidays? then perform the test for each smoke detector.

 

Manual testing
You do this by pressing or holding the button for more than 1 second. While If you keep the button pressed, the red LED indicator light will flash quickly. At the same time, the alarm goes off with three short shrill tones. If you click the button releasing it stops the alarm.

 

Replace battery
When replacing the battery, observe local regulations. Used batteries should not be disposed of with household waste. Discard Batteries only go away when they are completely discharged. Paste the poles of partially discharged batteries to prevent short circuits. Never throw batteries away in an open fire.

Replace the battery immediately when the smoke detector indicates that the battery is low is almost empty (up to 5 years of battery life).

Silence function
If you are sure that it is a false alarm, you can silence the alarm by pressing the control button. The smoke detector will sound for 10 minutes remain silent. When there are still too many particles in the air after 10 minutes the alarm will sound again. Test the smoke detector after a false alarm.
 
Do you frequently experience false alarms? Clean and/or clean the smoke detector check that the chosen location is correct and choose another one if possible location.
 
Cleaning
Accumulating dirt and grease can affect the operation of the smoke detector. Clean smoke detectors monthly. It is best to do this with a soft one brush. Do not use water, cleaning agents or solvents. Limitations

Where you can place smoke detectors
  • Determine how many alarms you need and where they are best located to install.
  • At a minimum, ensure that smoke detectors are installed between bedrooms and locations with potential fire sources such as kitchens and living rooms.

DO NOT install smoke detectors:
