If you have replaced the Smart Smoke Detector battery and still get a low battery message, there are several possible causes:

  1. The new battery is not inserted correctly: Make sure the new battery is inserted correctly. If the polarity is incorrect, the device cannot use the battery and continues to indicate that the battery is dead.
  2. If you have this type smoke detector with article number 429220, it needs a battery type CR14505 3Volt.

Please note a type AA 1.5Volt battery has the same dimensions but is not suitable.

If you have this type of smoke detector with article number 6301000100 then a battery of type CR123A 3Volt should be installed.
  3. The device has a problem: If none of the above solutions works, there may be a problem with the device itself. In this case, contact the store where you purchased the product.
