Post light staying purple

Darren Vidamour

My new post light won’t connect to the gateway or my app and after resetting numerous times it just comes on and stays purple. It doesn’t even flash to pair when powered off.

    Hi Darren,

Thanks for reaching out. To help us look into this more specifically, could you please let us know the article number of the post light?

You can usually find the article number on the product label or on the packaging. Once we know the exact model, we can check the correct pairing procedure and what the solid purple light may indicate.

    Regards,
    Brian.

Okay, then it is most likely article number 5401000900.

This is a Smart Outdoor Bluetooth Mesh product. Before you can connect the light to your Calex Outdoor Link (Gateway), you first need to reset the light.

    Resetting the light

Use a physical switch for this procedure, so that the power supply to the light is completely interrupted.

Make sure the light is ON, then follow these steps:

    1. Switch the light OFF and wait 10 seconds.
    2. Switch the light ON and OFF again within 2 seconds.
    3. Wait 5 seconds.
    4. Switch the light ON and OFF again within 2 seconds.
    5. Wait another 5 seconds.
    6. Switch the light ON.

The light should now start flashing. This indicates that the light has been successfully reset and is ready to be paired.

Connecting the light to the Calex Outdoor Link

Once the light is flashing, you can connect it to the Calex Outdoor Link via the Calex Smart app:

    1. Open the Calex Smart app.
    2. Find the Calex Outdoor Link and tap it to open the management screen.
    3. Tap + Add device at the bottom of the screen.
    4. Select the appropriate option:
      • Add existing – if you have already added the light to the Calex Smart app via Bluetooth.
      • Search for Devices – if you want to search for and add a new Bluetooth light.
    5. Follow the remaining steps shown in the Calex Smart app.

Following these steps should allow you to connect the light to your Calex Outdoor Link.

Please note: the reset procedure may not always work on the first attempt. If the light does not start flashing, repeat the complete reset procedure.

Hi Brian tried that several times and my other 5 lights work fine but this particular one doesn’t even flash. I have a video of this.

Ah, okay. In that case, there is a possibility that the product has become defective in some way. I would recommend taking it back to the store where you purchased it. They can assess the product and discuss a suitable solution with you, such as replacing it with a new one.
