SD Cards
Hi. I have a few cameras some use sd cards, some use cloud and some have both. I’ve noticed recently that my newer cameras that are PTZ just fill the memory card and I have to format it when it’s full. I’ve never noticed this problem before and was wondering if there’s a fix and if something has maybe changed with updates etc?

Hi Frank,
That is indeed strange. Normally, you should not need to manually format the SD card once it becomes full. The camera should handle this automatically by overwriting the oldest recordings with new footage when the SD card reaches its capacity.
How did you determine that the SD card needs to be formatted manually?
I would like to investigate this further based on your cameras. Could you please provide me with the device IDs of the cameras concerned? I can then look into this for you and determine what might be causing the issue and how we can resolve it.

Hi Brian. I noticed as I wanted to review something from the previous day. It automatically goes to local storage but there was nothing there for altleast 4 days(not sure how much my 64gb card holds) I did check the cloud storage first but it pick up the incident I was looking for. This is the device bff26ccd2d6225f48anipj but it was the same in the other ptz cameras when I checked. My older stationary ones were fine.

We have now identified the cause of the issue and are currently working on a solution. We expect to be able to release a new firmware update by the end of next week. Your cameras will then be offered the update gradually over the course of the following week.

don’t really review camera footage that often but just been to check something and the local storage has failed again. Memory card full and the cloud storage which is in high sensitivity has skip the event I wanted to check and recorded nothing even though I know stuff was happening. After checking local storage has failed on 2 out of 3 cameras I originally posted about which I have just reformatted and both cards are working. All 3 got the update when it was sent out. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear that the firmware update has not completely resolved the issue after all.
I’m going to discuss this again with our development team so we can investigate further what might still be causing the issue. During our previous tests, we were no longer able to reproduce the problem with the new firmware.
I would therefore like to ask for a little more patience while we investigate this further. As soon as we have more information, I’ll get back to you.
In the meantime, could you please send me the device IDs of the three affected cameras again? This will allow us to include them in our further investigation.
If possible, I would also appreciate clear, readable photos of both the front and back of the SD cards you are using. If all three cameras are using the same type of SD card, one set of photos showing the front and back of a single card will be sufficient.
As I mentioned it has only affected 2 out of 3 cameras at the moment. The 2 affected are bff26ccd2d6225f48anipj and bf9bdafba17871768adnmg. I also use various memory cards and can normally tell if they’ve broken for any reason and the also vary in memory size up to 64gb max. Not sure how to change the size of the photo yet to put it on here but I normally use sandisk ultra so it a decent brand. Also do you have any advice on the cloud recording missing stuff or would you like me to start a new post?
