I have a large amount of outdoor devices connected to my Wifi. Calex lamps in fact.
Currently I use them all connected on my wifi through my app. I've set up scenes and timings for them to go on and off at different times. Works ok.
But I bought one of these recently to try & solve the occasional drop out of wifi. (currently I have to reconnect a bulb manually sometimes) But to be honest, I don't really know what it's achieving or how it can help me. Also, would I need to of these to cover a larger property?

Hi Dan,
As you indicate, you are now using several Wi-Fi lights in your garden. For proper operation, you need to make sure there is good Wi-Fi coverage in your garden.
The Calex Outdoor Link is not suitable for improving your Wi-Fi coverage. The Calex Outdoor Link is a Bluetooth Mesh hub which should be used in combination with our Bluetooth Mesh Outdoor products to set up a good Bluetooth Mesh network. The Calex Outdoor Link is then the bridge between the Bluetooth Mesh network and your Wi-Fi network.
In order to improve the Wi-Fi coverage in your garden you need to install an extra Wi-Fi Access point or extra Wi-Fi Mesh point within the range of your Wi-Fi lamps.
With kind regards,

Hi Dan,
I recognize your situation and the what Brian is saying. Near my house within my wifi range I have wifi products (calex bulbs). For the rest of the garden I have the Calex bluetooth mesh products. The Calex Link (mesh Hub) is within my house / wifi range. The mesh products are approx 10 meters apart around my garden where the first product is also within 10 mtrs of my calexlink.
Hope this helps.
It does. Thankyou. I have a decent Wifi mesh system using a TP Link Deco (including an outdoor X50 unit) which I think is doing the job and all outside lamps have good coverage on Wifi. So in summary, the bluetooth mesh feels like a suitable alternative where a good extended Wifi coverage is not possible or is expensive to install.
