CCTV multi channel viewing

Frank snee
When watching CCTV on 4, 9 or 16 channel view can the order of the screens be re-arranged? Just each time I add a new camera it goes in position 1 (top left of screen) but I would like to group my camera’s for easier viewing.

    Hi Frank,

It is possible to change the order of the cameras. You can do this by adding them to a 'room' and within the 'room' put the cameras in the correct order. This order is then also maintained in the multi camera screen.

    With kind regards,

Hi Brian, did what you suggested but cams are all in the same order. Created a room called ‘cctv’ and put all my cams in it. Then clicked the cam button on Home Screen to get multi-view. Then used the drop down menu to change from ‘all cameras’ to ‘cctv’ but they were all in the same order. Tried re-arranging them several times with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help

    Hi Frank,

    Strange that this doesn't work.

This is something we'll have to figure out further. I'll create a ticket of your report, then we'll take it from there. We may need some information from you which we better not share here.

    With kind regards,
    Brian - Calex Community Team

    Hi Frank,

You're absolutely right, Frank! We were supposed to fix the issue with rearranging the cameras in the Smart App. Why that hasn't happened yet? Well, that's a bit of a mystery to me at the moment. Something must've gone wrong. I'll dig into it and get back to you as soon as I have things figured out!

    Hi Frank,

I have raised this issue again in our internal meeting with the development team. It is on the ToDo list for an upcoming version and has certainly not been forgotten. However, there are many new requests on the list, and while all of them will be addressed, they cannot all be implemented at the same time.

Each request is prioritized based on several factors. The request to rearrange the camera feeds has been planned for some time and is expected to be implemented towards the end of this year.

I understand this may not be the response you were hoping for, and while I can’t change it at this moment, please rest assured that the functionality is indeed coming.

Any update on if this feature will be available. Still can’t move or change the order of screens. Unless I’m missing something?

    Hi Frank,

Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment. We will let you know as soon as the functionality is available.

    Brian.

Don’t suppose this function has been added yet? I got new cameras and really don’t want to start climbing ladders just rearrange the order of them.

    Hi Frank,

We understand that it’s frustrating that you’re not yet able to rearrange your cameras in the multiview screen. This feature is still on the roadmap for a future version of the Calex Smart App. When developing new features, demand and priority are always taken into account.

I have already reached out to the development team to see if there is any update on the timeline for this functionality.

In the meantime, an alternative solution has become available that may help you or might even be a better fit for your needs. Within the Calex Smart App, you can use the online IPC portal: https://protect-eu.ismartlife.me/

You can scan the QR code shown on this website using the Calex Smart App (tap the plus icon in the top right corner and select “Scan”). In the IPC portal, you will see the devices you have linked in your Calex Smart App. At the moment, the portal only supports smart cameras, but it does allow you to choose different grid layouts and rearrange your cameras by dragging and dropping them within the grid.

Please let me know if this solution works for you for now. As soon as I receive more information from the development team, I will keep you informed.

    Brian.

    Hi Frank,

Regarding the ability to change the order of cameras in the app’s multi-view: I have good news! DVL has confirmed that this functionality is being developed and is scheduled for release in Q4 of this year for testing. I expect we’ll be able to release this to the public shortly thereafter.

    Gr,

    Brian.
