If you want to check for new firmware updates for your smart devices, there are several ways to do so. Here are three ways to check:

  1. Manual check by smart device
In the Smart app, open your Smart device and choose 'Settings' at the top right and then choose 'Check for firmware upgrade'. If a new firmware is available it will be notified here and you can perform the firmware update directly.

  2. Manual check for all smart devices
Open your Smart app and choose 'Account' at the bottom right, then 'Settings' at the top right and then 'Device Update'. If there are updates for one or more Smart devices, they will be listed here.

  3. Enable automatic updates per device
In the Smart app, open your Smart device and select 'Settings' at the top right, then select 'Check for firmware upgrade'. Here, select the 'Automatic Updates' option.
As soon as a new firmware update becomes available, it will be installed automatically. The update will be performed at a time when your Smart device is inactive. During the update, your Smart device will be temporarily offline.

It may happen that a "forced" update is issued for a Smart device. In that case, this will be notified immediately when the Smart device is selected.

This is an update that the user is required to install because it contains important improvements and fixes for the device.

It is highly recommended to always install a forced firmware update. This is because it improves the stability, security and performance of the device and includes the latest features and improvements developed by the manufacturer.

In addition, it can also help fix known security issues and vulnerabilities.
