Switch cycles means: the life span of a lamp, expressed in the number of switchings (on and off). Using this factor, you can determine if a lamp is suited to the application required by you. The lighting in a bathroom, for instance, will be switched on and off more often than the lighting in a living room. A light source with a higher switch cycle will therefore be better suited.
