Calex Dimmer in a two-way switch circuit

It is possible to use the Calex Smart Dimmer in a switch circuit or two-way switch circuit.

  • Switching circuit:
    This allows you to control one lamp from two different locations. In this case, make sure you use a two-way switch..
  • Two-way switch circuit:
    If you want to operate the lamp from three or more locations, this is referred to as a hotel switch. In addition to two-way switches, you will also need one or more cross switches for this..

This will ensure that your Calex Smart Dimmer continues to function properly and allows you to easily control your lighting from multiple locations..

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Switch off the power:
    Always switch off the power at the fuse box before you start installing. Safety comes first..
  2. Preparing the wiring:
    • N (blue): Connect the neutral wire directly to the N terminal of the dimmer and through to the lamp..
    • L (brown): Connect the phase wire to the L connection of the dimmer.
  3. Connecting the switch:
    • Connect the changeover contacts of the switch (1) to the ~1 and ~2 outputs of the dimmer..
  4. Connecting the lamp:
    • Connect the L contact of the changeover switch to the black wire of the lamp..
    • Connect the other end of the lamp to the neutral wire..
  5. Check and switch on:
    • Check all connections carefully.
    • Switch the power back on and test whether the dimmer is working correctly with the switches..
