Advanced Timer Functions Calex Smart Plug

  • Updated

The Calex Smart Plug offers various timer options that allow you to control your devices fully automatically. Below is an overview of all advanced timer functions, including a brief explanation and an example.

1. Countdown

What does it do?
The Countdown function allows you to set a countdown time after which the smart plug automatically switches off (or switches on, depending on the action set). This is useful if you want a device to switch off automatically after a certain amount of time.

Example:
You switch on the smart plug and set the countdown timer to 2 hours. After 2 hours, the plug switches off automatically.
It also works the other way around: switch off the smart plug and set the countdown timer to 2 hours. After 2 hours, the plug switches on again automatically.

2. Schedule

What does it do?
The Schedule function allows you to set fixed times at which the smart plug automatically turns on or off. This can be done for specific days or repeated daily.

Example:
You set the lamp to turn on automatically every weekday morning at 10:00 and turn off again at 12:00. On weekends, it turns on at 18:00 and turns off again at 23:59.

3. Circulate

What does it do?
The Circulate function switches the smart plug on and off in a repeating pattern. You decide how long the device stays on and how long it stays off.

Example:
You want a fan to run for 2 hours during the day and then switch off for 1 hour.

4. Random

What does it do?
The Random function switches the smart plug on or off at random times within a specified time window. This gives the impression that someone is at home, which is useful for burglary prevention.

Example:
You set the lamp to turn on and off at random times between 5 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. to simulate presence.

5. Inching

What does it do?
Inching automatically switches the smart plug off (or on) after a short set time. Ideal for devices that only need to be activated for a short time.

Example:
Set Inching to 5 minutes and 30 seconds and press the button to switch on the smart plug. After 5 minutes and 30 seconds, the plug will switch off automatically.

6. Astronomical

What does it do?
With the Astronomical function, the smart plug automatically switches on or off based on local sunrise and sunset times. The times are automatically adjusted to the seasons.

Example:
You set the garden lighting to turn on 25 minutes before sunset and turn off 15 minutes after sunrise, without having to manually change the times.
