The power of Bluetooth Mesh

A Bluetooth Mesh network consists of a hub and one or more Bluetooth Mesh devices which both pick up and extend the signal as long as these devices are within range of each other (max. 15 m). Thus greatly improving the range outside your home.

All it requires is having the CalexLINK hub set-up within your local Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) network. The CalexLINK is the hub which connects Wi-Fi to Bluetooth.

Good to know:

What is the range of the Calex Bluetooth Mesh lights?
The recommended distance between two Bluetooth Mesh devices is approximately 15 meters. However, this is not a fixed limit; depending on the environment (such as walls, obstacles, and sources of interference), the range may be greater or shorter.

Can the lights cover an area larger than 15 meters?
Yes, that's possible. Because mains-powered Bluetooth Mesh products (such as lamps that run on mains power) form a network among themselves, they relay the signal to one another. By strategically placing multiple such products, the network can cover much greater distances.

Can all Bluetooth Mesh products relay the signal?
No. Only mains-powered Bluetooth Mesh devices can relay the signal and thus strengthen the network. Battery-powered devices cannot do this.

What is important when setting up a Calex Bluetooth Mesh network?
Make sure there is always at least one mains-powered Bluetooth Mesh device within range of the Calex Outdoor Link. This device serves as the starting point for your network.

What affects the range of my Mesh network?
Factors such as thick walls, metal objects, sources of interference, and large open spaces can weaken the signal. Keep this in mind when placing your lights.

Is there a limit to the number of sub-devices that can be connected?
There is indeed a limit to the number of devices you can connect to a Calex Smart Outdoor Link.
